Testimonials

Both of my daughters were lucky enough to be involved with Alicia and Dreams Drama during their primary and secondary school years. They thoroughly enjoyed all of the regular group workshops, individual coaching, special events and performances that they got the opportunity to be part of with Alicia and Dreams Drama. They both grew in confidence and gained a great foundation in performing arts and their own disciplines.

My eldest daughter focused on drama and singing and with the benefit of Alicia’s coaching, guidance and support achieved great results in many local talent competitions, gained lead roles in college and community productions and finally took up a place with New Zealand School of Music.

My youngest daughter enjoyed drama but ballet was her true passion. Alicia provided her a good foundation in stage/performance skills and during her primary years Alicia’s individual coaching got her started with ballet competition dances. This set her on the pathway of her passion for ballet performance and she is now heading to English National Ballet School in September 2017.

I am in awe of Alicia’s passion, drive, and energy in everything she does with, and for, her students – she has a genuine dedication to her students allowing them to thrive in performing arts in the best way for them. She is an amazing multi-disciplined performing arts teacher and an asset to the Kapiti Coast.

There are only 5 people in my life that I believe have directly influenced the success I find as a film-maker, leader, performer and overall creative today. Those are two teachers, and my Mother, Father and Brother. Alicia is one of the two teachers, and clearly one of the best I’ve ever known. Dreams Drama School offered me seemingly endless opportunities to express myself creatively and socially. Alicia’s drive to treat each individual like a star was aided only by her pure passion to see us all succeed. She is one of the most energetic, honest and inspirational people I’ve ever had the chance to meet, learn from and now know as a friend. Dreams Drama School is the true core of creativity and confidence on the coast!”.

“Alicia’s highly passionate approach to teaching inspired and encouraged me through my first years as a competition dancer. Her fantastic choreography saw me receive some great results and I progressed quickly as she always had a stream of ideas about how she could challenge me in the future. With my best interests at heart, I counted on Alicia for advice and she became a mentor to me as I pursued my dream of becoming a professional dancer. The years I spent working on my performance with Alicia were not only fundamental building blocks on my way to a dance career, I gained a confidence, self-discipline and work ethic, whilst having fun, which I carried all the way through my school years. Now performing professionally in Europe, I am hugely grateful for the role Alicia played in fueling my love for dance”.

I have loved drama since I was toddler dressing up and putting on shows for my family. I have done acting at my primary school and for college also, as well and doing lots of skits and productions at my church.

When I joined Dreams drama I was warmly welcomed. That year I really enjoyed going to drama every Wednesday and it was definitely a highlight of each week. I love the fact that everyone is welcomed, no matter what. I have now been at Dreams for three years now, this will be my fourth year.

I have played the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz, the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland and most recently Michael in Mary Poppins. I love being involved in these productions and am really grateful for everyone one who makes them possible
